What Trump did amazing was making him self-look really well liked and popular during the debate. The first thing he talks about is all the military and security endorsements he has received. He talks about the various amounts of Admirals and Generals who endorsed him. He mentions specifically ICE which by his claims has “never openly supported any candidate before”. This is by far one of his smartest tactics. Also he did a really good job making Hillary look stupid. When she speaks he makes facial expressions and little comments that really undermine everything she is discussing. It takes the audiences attention off what she is saying and puts it on Trump. He also blames the Obama administration (includes Clinton) about the horrible state of our cyber security. By doing this, he is able to bolster the Republican Party’s image, while discrediting Hillary Clinton. What Trump did not do so well with was being clear and exact with what his plans are for cyber security. This seems to be a common thing Trump does in public events. During this debate he talks about how bad America has been with cyber security, but he never explains or even summarizes his ideas to improve Cyber security. He is showing the American people and the world that the United States is not at their best and that can become a very dangerous thing.

If I were Trump’s campaign advisor I would tell him that he needs to lay out at lest 2 or 3 points that explains most of his claims and plans. I know that if Trump was more clear with his plans, that he would not only help his image with the general public, but would boost his campaigns credibility. One of the biggest critiques of Trump is that it seems like he does not know what he is doing. By not being able to explain even briefly his plans, makes him look stupid and unprepared. Even though it has helped him, I would tell Trump not to interrupt Clinton as frequently as he usually does during these debates. It is not a good look for a presidential candidate. He needs to be able to show temperament and resolve, which are two very important qualities a world leader needs to have mastered (he has not).

First, his main platform is immigration, so I would tell him to keep making immigration his first priority. I tell him that he needs to talk about immigration at every public event because it is such an important subject that is very relevant in the United States. I would also tell him to really emphasize Clinton’s mistakes as the Secretary of State. By going over her two most prominent mishaps the email scandal and Benghazi attacks, he will be able to rally Republicans together, while discrediting and degrading Clinton’s time in the White House. This really would help show the American people that even being a career politician that Clinton is not prepared to be President of the United States.

The speech I am going to analyze is President Trump’s inauguration speech. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRBsJNdK1t0. First I find it weird how a majority of Republicans said Trump’s speech was excellent and a majority of Democrats said it was poorly done. But, we should come to expect negative reviews from the opposition party. I think one thing Donald Trump did well during this speech was to give GOP senators some confidence that he will be an effective president. His speech was crafted in a way that was pleasing and politically correct from the point of view of the GOP senators. He also talked about how he will bring together the Republican Party, not cause it to divide. He also did an amazing job talking about how he is the people’s champion. At various points throughout his speech he talked about how he won “by a landslide”. He backs this up by talking about how he swept the Rust Belt states from Hillary when no one expected him too. He does a really good job of making the viewer know the American people are the ones who wanted him in the Oval Office. I think one major thing he did very poorly was to include everyone in his speech. He did not do a good enough job of persuading America to believe he will fight for everyone no matter who you are. In his speech he barely mentions women and minorities. This is a category of people who have been largely opponents of Donald Trump. This speech should have been used to bring America together after a bitter election and to reassure everyone that America is only great when we all work together.

If I were Trump’s campaign manager I would tell him to change the way he speaks. He needs to talk in more fluent and informative sentences. He also talks with his hands too much. During every speech, debate, and news conference we can see Trump doing hand gestures as he speaks. This is highly distracting and from my point of view takes away from the context of his speech. I would have also had Trump talk about immigration in a more politically correct way during his speeches. This category of people has been ignored by Trump and his policies. His policies are geared toward keeping most minorities out of America. This is where his ideas of “The Wall” and “The Muslim Ban” become so controversial. As his manager, I would also urge him to talk about HealthCare more directly. I would have him in a speech clearly state the main points of his HealthCare replacement plan. If he had done this I believe everyone would be more accepting of him. The fact that he never clearly states his plan is something that has been clearly documented and criticized. He would become more of a revered politician if he were able to clearly summarize his actions and policies. Trump overall just needs to become more inclusive when he is talking. He needs to be able to show the American people that he is working for them and has everyone’s needs in mind.

President Trump’s greatest strength would be his confidence. Like everything else in life confidence is key. Confidence is an important trait a voter wants in a leader. Trump believes with all his heart that his ideas, policies, and the direction he wants to take this country is the correct one. He once said “Happy New Year to all, including to my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don’t know what to do. Love!” The Presidents greatest weakness is his recklessness. He often shoots from the hip when he tweets. During his campaign he would often send out tweets that might have seemed like a good idea to him, but the public did not feel the same way. For example, during the Republican primary he tweeted out a picture that compared his wife to Ted Cruz’s wife. This was an unprecedented move even for Trump at the time. Donald’s greatest opportunity was Hillary Clinton’s email scandal. I have to give it to him he seized this opportunity. He continuously and relentlessly slammed her about the scandal at every interview, press conference, and debate. In my view his approach to the email scandal won him the Oval Office. Trumps single biggest threat he faced during campaign season was the media. From the start he slammed liberal news channels for reporting on news that was negative towards him, or otherwise known as  “fake news”. He has frequently tried to cut the medias credibility from the public. His war with the news media has caused a lot of people to develop discouraging and negative views of him. Whenever issues came up during the election Trump’s campaign team frequently refuted negative news through social media.

One of the issues that was most highlighted throughout Trump’s campaign was his stance on America first. He made sure we all knew that he was going to be the President that “Makes America Great Again”. All through the campaign he said he would make sure business stay in America and create jobs for American citizens. Which sounds great and everything, just his path to doing this will cause intense tension between America and it’s allies. I think one tactic that built up his support was his frequent and often-incorrect insults towards what President Obama accomplished in the job sector. Trump made clear his hard-line stance on immigration. President Trump believes a wall is needed on the United States-Mexico boarder. This wall in my point of view shows the racism that influence’s Trumps political views. Trump also frequently highlighted the issue of terrorism. He told the public that he would protect America from all the terrorists. This is where he came out with the idea of the Muslim ban. He thinks restricting Muslims from entering the United States decreases the chances of a terror attack happening on American soil. One of the many issues Trump failed to talk about during the election was women and minority rights. Through Trump’s comments and actions he has made it clear that he is un-motivated to improve the lives of women and minorities. I believe if he had shown much more interest in improving their lives his support would have increased. His most focal issue was putting America first. That is what he ran his campaign on. His slogan was “Make America Great Again”.

One of Trump’s most trusted and influential advisor was Jared Kushner.  Jared Kushner happens to be Donald’s son in law. Jared is married to Trump’s daughter Ivanka. Jared graduated cum laude from Harvard College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts. He then proceeded to get a law degree from New York University in 2007. Kushner is most known for his and his fathers real estate company in New York. Like Trump the Kushner’s made their wealth being a real estate investor. This is how Jared became involved with Ivanka. Jared has become one of Trumps top and most trusted advisors.

It goes without saying the most famous and probably most influential advisor to Trump is Kellyanne Conway. Conway became well known throughout the Republican Party through her work as a strategist for Republican officials on how to become more appealing towards women. This as everyone knows is a clear weakness of the Trump campaign. It goes without saying Kellyanne Conway was the mastermind behind getting as much support from women as he did. I think he would have lost the election without her. There are a few people in politics that would have been able to defend everything Donald has ever said disparaging women. Conway’s incredible work during the election and her extensive knowledge in politics has made her an irreplaceable asset to the Trump campaign.

My candidate is named Donald J. Trump. Donald Trump is a white American who was born into wealth. His background is mostly of business. He is a prominent Businessman who has become a billionaire though his various operations in commercial real estate. Until recently, he started having political ambitions and in 2015 decided to run for President of the United States. Donald has no experience in government. This fact has shown to be a very worrisome fear throughout America. People feel like if he gets overwhelmed or is not properly prepared he could start implementing policies that become detrimental to the American people. His only experience is being in business. He has run Trump Organization for several decades, which he inherited from his father. His qualifications are that he is not like any other politician we have seen. He is unconventional and has a different way of communicating to the American people. His tactics are brash and unpredictable. His positive qualifications are that he knows how to properly negotiate and will not beat around the bush. Maybe running the country like a business could be a good change from past Presidents and lead to more economic growth. The most essential thing to know about Trump’s campaign is that it is vulgar and unconventional. He speaks what comes to mind and he has no problem attack his fellow colleagues. It is also important to understand that his campaign is all about misdirection and becoming stricter in every aspect of our life.

Trumps public image is as a racist conservative man who wants to bring America’s laws in accordance to the constitution. As a man who wants to bring American jobs back, wants America to be the only super-power in the world, and wants rules to be the way the founding fathers meant them to be. This is because through the various hatred speeches and beliefs he has time over time referenced in public forums. Majority of Americans are moving in a progressive way and Trump is the ant-thesis of the progressive movement. His campaign wants him to be understood as a leader that is putting America first. He is implementing these strict policies so the majority of Americans can feel safer. I feel like if he changed his public image to a man that wants America to be safe while being inclusive. We are the home of immigrants and that is what our foundation is built on. More Americans would be able to relate to him. One of the most important things for him to change is his speech. He needs to become a better more persuasive public speaker. He speaks in short sentences and does not get into enough detail on how he plans to carry out his policies. Also to boos this image he needs to stop fighting the media. He needs to stop having thin skin and let insults from the media go. The American people would see him more favourably if he focuses on the issues that mattered and became more accepting off all ethnicities and minorities.
